When does Term 1 of ASAP and Sportverein start?

ASAP: 6 September 2021 – 4 February 2022. Please be aware that selected activities may NOT take place on days when ISS classes are not in session.

Where can I find detailed information about the After School Program activities?

Information about the programs and activities is emailed to parents before each term.

How to register for an after school program activity?

Registration for GISST, ASAP and Sportverein takes place via Veracross. Once you have logged onto Veracross click the After School Programs button on the left hand side of your screen, select which section you require and follow the prompts.

Who are the instructors/coaches?

Our team of instructors and coaches consists of ISS staff, ISS parents, ISS students (always supervised by an adult while leading an activity) and outside instructors hired by the Athletic Director and the Sportverein Coordinator and ASAP Manager.

What should I do if my child is sick or can’t attend the activity/sport?

It is the parent’s responsibility to inform the school (iss@issev.de) and the Athletic Department (see above) as early as possible that their child will not be able to participate. The school is unable to accept an unexcused absence.

How do children get to their activity/practice after school?

Sportverein teams are practicing at the LAC field and play competitive games in the German local league. It is the responsibility of the parents to provide transportation to the practice and games and to arrange collection of their child at the end of practise.

Do I need to let my children’s classroom teacher know if my child attends an ASAP activity?

Yes, please let the classroom teachers know which activities your child will attend. This way teachers can ensure that your child goes to their chosen activity.

How do classroom teachers prepare their children for the activity?

Ideally, children are being prepared as if they were going home, with everything they need, zip lock, coat, bag, gloves, hat, etc. Please keep in mind that the school is being cleaned and prepared for the next school day after school ends. This means, that not all areas of the school are always easily accessible for collecting school bags, jackets or any other personal belongings
